I am just starting my true journey into the wonderful world of Yoga, searching for the traditional Yoga and Yogi beliefs, it can be so confusing, so many different forms of Yoga.
Finding what is right for you is a personal journey, I have been practicing Yoga for a while now, but at home on You Tube, being guided by many different instructors (of my choice) and their beliefs as to best form of Yoga that may suit. Then due to some to unforeseen circumstances I find myself not being able to do that as much as I would like.
I have found myself stepping out into that big crazy world to find a teacher, to actually attend a class, OMG how nervous was I stepping outside the safety and comfort of my own four walls to be a class with total strangers, this may not seem like much to some, but to me it was and is, being the emotional Cancerian that I am stepping outside of my shell has been a challenge, but I must say proving to be worth the effort.
In my search for guidance with my journey through Yoga I have found a wonderful teacher a beautiful and most caring teacher I could wish for, gentle but strong in her technique, her teaching style is one that I would love to aspire to her name is Emma Costello
If you ever wish to step out and do a class, you must give this beautiful soul a visit and make up your own mind and form your own opinion, I am posting a link to her classes and website, give her go it is well worth the journey.
As I journey through my classes with Emma I know I will have a greater understanding of what Yoga is and what it can actually do to help me create a more centered peaceful focused existence through practice and as I am also learning …. a biggy for me PATIENCE.
I don’t know about you but going to yoga you want to get the poses right you want to look like you know what you are doing….yeah!!! Does anyone else relate to that one?
What I have learnt by stepping out into class, and YES listening to the teacher, I have found that it has to be taken slow, little steps, it’s about feeling the pose and getting the best possible benefit for YOUR BODY and where you are at and not trying to keep with your next door neighbour, it is all about YOU.
Learning to TRUST – another biggy for me, TRUST in yourself and your body and move within your limits and gently, gently does it. Even though I am finding this part a little frustrating I am also feeling that I am growing and stretching myself in other areas as I become stronger in my poses, I am feeling I will become stronger in my daily life.
Journey is ongoing and will be continued as I journey and study and learn and open myself up to possibilities I once thought unachievable.
